Friday 19th March

We are living in unprecedented times, as the world faces a pandemic that is afflicting individuals, families and businesses.

Although CLC World remains strong, the sector within which we operate, travel and leisure, is one of the most affected with thousands of flights cancelled and governments taking drastic measures to protect their citizens.

In order to adhere with global and regional guidelines and legislation, ultimately designed to keep our guests and staff safe, all CLC World resorts will need to temporarily close from Saturday 21st March 2020 until Thursday 30th April 2020.

All accommodation reservations into our resorts during this period are therefore cancelled or postponed.

If you are a CLC World Member, please visit www.myclcworld.com for up to date information. If you are not a Member, but have a reservation at one of the resorts, you will be contacted by the travel operator directly.

As the situation is currently very fluid, we will inform of any changes to these dates via this page.

Sunday 15th March – 08:00 UPDATE:

The UK Foreign Office has now advised against all travel to Spain. www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain

Therefore, unfortunately if you have an upcoming reservation for one of CLC World’s Spanish (including Canary Islands) resorts, it follows similar advice to that of our USA resorts and our Austrian resort – March bookings will have to be cancelled, pending further regional government advice.

Guests who are currently staying at CLC World Spanish and American resorts will maintain their accommodation bookings until their return flights depart. Please check with your airline for further information on any flight schedule changes.

Guests in Spain should follow our previous advice on this page and remain on resort until their departure. There are government restrictions in place and your CLC World resorts are exempt from some of these restrictions. This therefore allows us to continue to deliver services to ensure guests comfort until departure.

Additional safety protocols are being implemented regarding guest numbers in certain locations. As with our previous announcements on more robust hygiene schedules, this is aimed to protect both guests and our team members, all of whom remain our first priority at all times.

Please see local receptions for information about which on-resort services will be permitted to continue.

Saturday 14th March – 22:00 UPDATE:

CLC World has been informed by the Spanish government that certain commercial activities are to be temporarily suspended. Retail stores, bars, restaurants and cafeterias are closed although supermarkets and stores selling food and drink will operate as normal as will chemists, opticians and certain other establishments deemed as essential.

Public gatherings on beaches and parks are banned and if you are outside the resorts this should only be for essential reasons such as grocery shopping or trips to the chemists and other establishments that remain open.

Guests should remain on-resort unless they are making these specific essential journeys and be guided by reception staff as the situation becomes clearer.

Please see receptions for information about which on-resort services will be permitted to continue.

CLC World will update this information again tomorrow as soon as further clarification is provided by the authorities.

If you have a flight scheduled for tomorrow please check with your airline as usual, with the possible exception of Jet2 flights, the current information is that airlines will be operating.

We will release another update at 3pm GMT tomorrow (Sunday).

Saturday 14th March – 17:00 UPDATE:

CLC World is awaiting further announcements which have been delayed, from both regional governments and from airlines such as Jet2 and other operators.

Please be assured that CLC World are doing as much as possible to provide guests with the most up to date official information as possible.

CLC World will update this information again as soon as we have further details from official sources.

We will release another update at 22:00, although the information will depend on external authorities making their announcements in time.

Saturday 14th March:

CLC World is aware of Jet2 and some tour operators decisions to suspend flights to Spain and the Canary Islands. Our teams are working to gather as much information as possible, and we expect to be able to release a further update today after 17.00 GMT.

Those booked on Jet2 flights today, should also contact their airline in the first instance. Please be assured that CLC World will do as much as we can to limit the disruption during this time.

Friday 13th March:

CLC WORLD’S COMMITMENT TO ENSURE GUEST SAFETY DURING THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) OUTBREAK

The safety of our guests and staff remains our highest priority.

We are doing everything we can to ensure your travel safety and also to provide maximum flexibility to those directly affected as the situation around novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve.

Resort Safety:
We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. In response to the coronavirus, additional measures have been implemented after seeking advice from global and local public health authorities, to ensure our cleaning and hygiene procedures are even more robust:
– Our hotel teams are receiving ongoing briefings and enhanced operating protocols.
– We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas with special disinfectant supplies (including lobbies, elevators, door handles, public bathrooms, etc.)
– We will continue to adjust food and beverage service in accordance with current food safety recommendations.
– We have increased the deployment of antibacterial hand sanitizers in staff areas and in public areas for guests to use.

For all booking condition changes, please revert to the Resort website or your specific members’ area, where you booked or wish to book the accommodation, to find out full details of the special new flexible conditions that apply.

Please check with your airline for updates on travel restrictions that may be in place. Any urgent updates regarding our specific resorts will follow below:
13th March 2020. * CLOSURE OF CLC ALPINE CENTRE, AUSTRIA *

Please be advised that late yesterday the regional authorities in Salzburg, Austria, announced an emergency measure stating that all hotels in the region need to close to guests by Monday 16th March to help the government fight the current coronavirus threat.

Unfortunately, we have no option but to cancel all bookings to this resort until the end of March (pending further information from the authorities). We will be contacting all travellers affected and this advice will be updated should anything change.
