As part of CLC World’s Safe Hands initiative, there are a number of resort protocols in place to ensure that your stay with us is both safe and enjoyable.

The resort has been registered by the Junta de Andalucia and Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT) as “safe accommodation”, meaning you can enjoy your holiday with confidence.

For yours and the CLC World team’s safety, all CLC World team members are wearing PPE in accordance with established guidelines and regulations in the hotel industry. CLC World has also installed screens at high contact points around the resort.

Please ensure that you maintain the recommended physical distance between yourself and non-family members at all possible times.

General Destination

From 12am 2 July 2021, the Spanish government requires all arrivals to Spain from the UK (excluding children under the age of 12 years old) to present on entry one of the following:

  • documentation issued within 48 hours prior to arrival in Spain, certifying that you have undertaken a COVID-19 test, e.g. PCR, TMA, LAMP or NEAR, and tested negative. Antigen tests are not currently accepted.
  • proof of being fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to arrival in Spain (date(s) of vaccination must be specified), with a vaccine authorised by the European Medicines Agency or by the World Health Organisation

All passengers entering Spain will still be required to complete a pre-travel declaration form.

Entry restrictions and testing requirements continue to apply for travel to Spain from ‘risk countries’. You should refer to the Spanish Embassy or Consulate in the country you are in for further advice.

All overland travellers (excluding children under 12 years of age) entering Spain by road or rail from France, are required to present a negative PCR, TMA or LAMP test taken within 72 hours prior to entry.

The Costa Del Sol, together with all districts within Malaga province, is now under Alert level 1, which is the least severe of the levels with fewer restrictions:

  • Table capacity increases to 8 people indoor and 10 people outdoors
  • Nightlife venues can remain open until 3.30am, stopping service at 3am

COVID-19 testing and your return home – The Reception has arranged the ability for you to book tests while holidaying at the Resort. Tests will be conducted by preferred medical centres, chosen for their convenience and minimal distraction to your overall holiday experience. Prices for PCR testing starts at €85 and €25 for the Antigen testing. You can book your tests here.

Masks – Spain has changed the wearing of mask regulation. The mask at all times in Spain has been replaced with:

  • You are not required to wear a mask when outside and when adhering to 1.5 social distancing.
  • You must always have a face mask with you for personal use, for example in anticipation of crowds, where social distancing can’t be maintained or in indoor spaces or on public transport.
  • The wearing of a mask applies to anyone aged 6 and over.

Physical distancing should still be maintained wherever possible, other than among family members.

  • Taxis – a maximum of 4 people allowed per standard taxi and 8 in the larger people carrier.
  • CLC World has partnered with Autos Lido, an in-airport Car Hire company. Should Guests wish to hire a car, an appointment must be made online directly with the car hire company or via one of the Receptions once on resort.
Check In
  • Reception is open 24 hours. Please contact us on [email protected] to supply travel details in advance so we can help you settle in as quickly as possible.
  • Porters are available during the main check in days.
  • Only the lead Member of the party will go to Reception, with all the passports of the group and a valid credit card, to complete the check in process. The remainder of the group will be directed to a waiting area until the check in is completed.
  • If the apartment is ready at check in, Guests will be given the sanitised room key.
  • If the apartment is not ready at check in, Guests can make use of the resort whilst the apartment is serviced. Reception will notify you once your apartment becomes available.
Accommodation
  • The apartments are fully equipped with a personal kitchen and a supply of linen and towels.
  • The apartments will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected using approved cleaning products.
  • Once the apartment has been disinfected there will be a seal on the door to be removed on entry by the guest.
  • A number of soft furnishing items have been removed to increase hygiene protocol e.g. bed throws, cushions, rugs.
  • The CLC World grocery welcome pack is complimented with a hygiene pack.
  • CLC Home Member Resort reservations receive a mid-week clean.
  • All other reservation types receive a mid-week change of towels, or other in-room requirements will be delivered to the door without staff entering.
  • Remote controls have been sealed in plastic to further enhance hygiene standards.
  • Please use the rubbish collection and recycling centres around the resort.
  • Upon departure, place all linen and towels in the bath/shower for collection and leave the unit in as tidy a state as possible to facilitate the changeover before the arrival of the next guests.
Bars & Restaurants
  • Seating within bars and restaurants is limited to maintain the social distancing rule of 1.5 metres.
  • Tables and chairs will be sanitised between users. Please wait to be seated.
  • Tables can be booked via Res Diary which can be found on Your Guide. A table reservation is recommended.
  • Safari Restaurant is currently closed due to the frequency and speed in which local COVID severity levels change. These constant changes make it extremely difficult for operations and inconsistent for guests and therefore we will direct you to the best available alternative services when required.
  • The Marina Del Sol Supermarket is open daily, from 09.15 to 2.15pm & 5pm to 7.30pm
  • El Tajo Restaurant in Marina Del Sol is open Tuesday through to Sunday for lunch, dinner and takeaway.
  • Sunrise, Cascades, Zac’s, El Rancho, Zacary’s & Sam’s Pantry remain closed.
  • Guests must remain seated and not approach or stand at the bar or service counters.
  • Menus are disposable and will be replaced after each usage. In addition, QR codes will provide access to digital menus.
  • Guests are encouraged to use contactless payment or room charging to limit the use of cash on resort.

Communal Areas (incl. pools)
  • CLC World maintenance and cleaning teams ensure communal areas are regularly cleaned and disinfected using approved chemicals.
  • Areas of high contact are sprayed and disinfected frequently by the CLC World team.
  • Hand sanitisers/gels are available throughout the resort. Guests are encouraged to wash hands regularly with soap and use the hand sanitisers/gels.
  • The Resort Train is operational and physical distancing between families is to be maintained. You are asked to wear a mask while travelling on the train.

Lifts

  • Only one person, or one family, to use the lift at a time.

Sunbeds & Pools

  • Pool areas including sunbeds fixtures and fittings will be sanitised daily.
  • Currently, capacity of the swimming pool areas is restricted to 50%. Guests are encouraged to swim, and then return to private terraces should there be no sunbed available at the poolside.

Gym, Health & Beauty

  • The gym is open daily from 9am until 7pm.
  • Massage and beauty treatments are available in the fitness centre at certain times during the day. Information and prices can be found on Your Guide.
Excursions & Activities
  • Excursions and activities are constantly reviewed. Up-to-date information on what is available can be found on notice boards in resort and on Your Guide.
  • The Kids Club is currently closed due to COVID capacity regulations. Pool side activities take place daily at San Diego Suites.
  • Currently, parent led activities are: Tennis, Table Tennis and Jogging routes. Equipment is sanitised between users.
Check Out
  • Check out is 10am on the day of departure.
  • Guests are encouraged to settle the bill the night prior to departure. Reception can take card payments over the phone and provide a copy of the bill via email.
  • If Guests are required to move apartments during a multiple week stay, please pack belongings and once invited to, move to the new apartment.
  • Access to a luggage room can be organised for Guests via Reception.
  • Currently, there is no shared courtesy room facility.

Entry to Spain

All passengers entering Spain will still be required to complete a pre-travel declaration form. Quarantine and testing on return to the UK continues to apply. See Returning to the UK.

Some travel restrictions and testing requirements are in place for international transit through Spanish airports by passengers on flights departing from the UK.

 Since 23 November 2020, pre-travel COVID-19 testing requirements have been in place for those travelling by air and sea from ‘risk’ countries (as determined by the European Centre for Disease Prevention & Control).

Spain requires all travellers arriving in Spain from countries deemed high risk to show they have tested negative for COVID-19 (PCR, RT-LAMP or TMA test) taken in the 72 hours prior to arrival.

Travellers from the UK must present a vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test on arrival into Spain. No other test is accepted at this time for arrivals from the UK.

If you are resident in Spain, you should carry your residence document (the green paper EU residence certificate or the new TIE), as well as your valid passport when you travel.

Travellers should follow the advice of the local authorities on how best to protect themselves and others, including any measures that they bring in to control the virus.

Mandatory pre-travel declaration form

Before travel to Spain, all passengers travelling by air or sea must complete and sign an online Health Control Form no more than 48 hours prior to travel declaring any known history of exposure to COVID-19 and giving contact details.

Anyone who has not completed this form electronically via the Spain Travel Health website or app, may submit it in paper format prior to boarding.

Testing requirements

Testing requirements for arrivals from the UK

From 12am 2 July 2021, the Spanish government requires all arrivals to Spain from the UK (excluding children under the age of 12 years old) to present on entry one of the following:

Testing requirements if travelling from a ‘risk country’

All passengers (excluding children under the age of 12 years old) travelling to Spanish airports and ports from ‘risk’ countries (as determined by the European Centre for Disease Prevention & Control) are required to present a negative PCR, TMA (Transcription-Mediated Amplification) or a LAMP (Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification) swab test taken within no more than 72 hours prior to arrival.

A minimum fine of €3000 may be issued to anyone who arrives in Spanish airports or ports from ‘risk’ countries without adequate evidence of a negative PCR, TMA or LAMP test.

Road travel

Land borders are open.

The Spanish government has implemented testing requirements for those travelling overland from France into Spain by road or rail. See Testing requirements for details.

The French government has implemented additional entry requirements for those travelling to and transiting through France. If you are planning to drive from Spain through France, check the latest FCDO travel advice for France ahead of your journey.

Testing requirements for overland travellers

All overland travellers (excluding children under the age of 12 years old) who wish to enter Spain by road or rail from France, are required to present a negative PCR, TMA or LAMP test taken within 72 hours prior to entry.

UK Travel Requirements

Countries listed as red, amber or green for coronavirus (COVID-19) and the rules you must follow for travel to England

From 4am Monday 4 October 2021, the rules for international travel to England will change from the red, amber, green traffic light system to a single red list of countries and simplified travel measures for arrivals from the rest of the world. The rules for travel from countries and territories not on the red list will depend on your vaccination status.

Travel from the rest of the world if you are fully vaccinated

From 4am Monday 4 October, if you have been fully vaccinated for at least 14 days under an approved vaccination program in the UK, Europe, US or UK vaccine programme overseas, you must:

  • book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test – to be taken after arrival in England
  • complete your passenger locator form – any time in the 48 hours before you arrive in England
  • take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 after you arrive in England

You do not need to:

  • take a pre-departure test
  • take a day 8 COVID-19 test
  • quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 days after you arrive in England

You must be able to prove that you have been fully vaccinated (plus 14 days) with a document (digital or paper-based) from a national or state-level public health body that includes, as a minimum:

  • forename and surname(s)
  • date of birth
  • vaccine brand and manufacturer
  • date of vaccination for every dose
  • country or territory of vaccination and/or certificate issuer
  • If your document from a public health body does not include all of these, you must follow the non-vaccinated rules. If not, you may be denied boarding.

If you are fully vaccinated in the US, you will also need to prove that you are a resident of the US.

If you are fully vaccinated, but do not qualify under these fully vaccinated rules, you must follow the non-vaccinated rules.

Travel from the rest of the world if you are not fully vaccinated

From 4am Monday 4 October, you must follow these rules if you:

  • do not qualify under the fully vaccinated rules
  • are partially vaccinated
  • are not vaccinated

Before you travel to England you must:

After you arrive in England you must:

  • quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 days
  • take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 and on or after day 8

Travel from red countries

From 4am Monday 4 October, you must follow these rules if you are:

  • fully vaccinated
  • partially vaccinated
  • not vaccinated

If you have been in a country or territory on the red list in the last 10 days, you will only be allowed to enter the UK if you are a British or Irish national or you have residence rights in the UK.

Before you travel to England, you must:

  • take a pre-departure COVID-19 test – to be taken in the 3 days before you travel to England
  • book a quarantine hotel package, including 2 COVID-19 tests
  • complete your passenger locator form – any time in the 48 hours before you arrive in England

When you arrive in England, you must quarantine in a managed hotel, including 2 COVID-19 tests.

UK Nationals – From 1st January 2021, the UK is no longer part of the EU and travel requirements have changed. Please refer to the UK government’s website for more information.
