Project Description

With an average year-round temperature of 22ºC, Tenerife is the number one destination in Spain for water sports enthusiasts and lovers of the great outdoors.

From deep sea fishing to scuba diving and sailing to surfing, Tenerife offers a wealth of activities for all the family to enjoy.

From CLC World’s holiday accommodation in Tenerife just a short drive away is the fascinating Puerto Colon and the lively resort area of Playa de Las Americas where many water sports activities are on offer.

Jet Skiing

Hire a jet ski or book a jet ski safari for 1-2 hours and enjoy a thrilling ride around the south coast of Tenerife.

Many great locations can be found close to our CLC Tenerife resorts where you can get a great introduction to jet skiing. Of all the water sports, jet skiing is probably the easiest to pick up. It’s also probably the fastest, and it’s the adrenaline attached to that speed that attracts thousands of people to the sport each year.

Jet bike, guide, insurance, petrol, boat support and life jacket are included in the price.

Experience a bird’s eye view of the coastline by flying 50m above the waves attached to a parachute. Take off from a modern boat with a landing platform and finish the ride with a dip in the Atlantic! One, two or three people can take to the skies safely from a choice of beaches around Tenerife.

Flyboarding is the coolest craze in water sports and provides fantastic water-based fun in the sun adrenalin junkies. Flyboarders stand on a board connected by a long hose to a watercraft. Water is forced under pressure to a pair of boots with jet nozzles underneath which provide thrust for the rider to fly up to 15 m (49 ft) in the air or to dive headlong through the water down to 2.5 m (8 ft).

Not for the faint-hearted, the Flyfish is an inflatable water sled towed by a high-speed boat. Climb on board for an unforgettable adrenalin rush as the inflatable flies through the air before speeding back down onto the waves. While still on the surface of the water, the Flyfish gives the ride of a lifetime. Dare you??

Deep Sea Fishing

Deep sea fishing fans are spoilt in Tenerife, where an abundance of tuna, marlin and sailfish can be found. Enjoy an adrenalin-filled ocean adventure and catch big game fish in one of the world’s most stunning locations.

Choose from a half day, 4 hour or full day 7-hour trip for a mixture of Game Fishing, Trolling, where baited lines are drawn through the water and Bottom Fishing, which requires the utmost drifting and anchoring tactics.

Scuba Diving

Scuba diving in Tenerife is available all year round and there is no better experience than immersing yourself in the colourful underwater world. See a wide range of colourful fish species, including barracudas, groupers and even the occasional shark!

You can also dive and swim with dolphins or feed the rays. Never tried diving? You have a great opportunity to dive accompanied by a personal instructor and meet the Canary Turtles. Snorkelling is also a great way to see the inhabitants of the Atlantic Ocean without going too deep.

If you have a passion for sailing, Tenerife will certainly not disappoint. Several resorts offer boats and equipment for hire, catering for all skill levels from beginners to seasoned sailors.

It is possible to sail around the whole island in a day, admiring the majestic Mount Teide as you go or if you enough time, visit some of the other Canary Islands.

Playa de Las Americas is the place to head for water-skiing and is one of the most popular water sports activities in Tenerife. Many holidaymakers take to the water and experience the rush of the wind in their hair while zipping across the bay.

Other options in Playa de Las Americas include hiring jet-skis and banana boat rides.

The proximity of our resorts to Playa de Las Americas means a wide range of water sports activities are close by.
