Visitor attractions in Edinburgh

Both the old and new town districts of Edinburgh were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1995, in celebration of their stunning Medieval and Georgian buildings. Edinburgh boasts over 4,400 listed buildings and 40 conservation areas.

A choice of amazing attractions in the old town include Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, St.Giles Cathedral and the Law Courts. Take your time to stroll around this part of town and soak up the culture and atmosphere of the narrow streets.

In the new town, shop ‘til you drop in Princes Street or visit the attractive gardens, home to the Ross Bandstand, a war memorial to US Soldiers of Scottish descent and a beautiful floral clock. The Royal Scottish Academy and the National Gallery of Scotland are located at the foot of the Mound and are served by the Princes Street tram stop.

Providing a vast range of fun attractions for all the family, including a zoo, interactive museums, theatres and major festivals, including the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Edinburgh Fringe and the Hogmanay Street Festival, this exciting city is well worth a visit if you are staying at CLC Duchally Country Estate.
