Sunshine walk for charity!
Earlier this week, those at Apollonium gathered together for a pleasant walk in the sunshine… the sea of red balloons, red t-shirts and a very big red ribbon at the finish line hinted that this wasn’t your usual walk but one for a good cause!
CLC World members, Jennie and Paul Hunt, took advantage of a blue skies and shining sun to hold a charity walk for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research! For the second year running, this walk has been a huge success and is popular among those who stay during the spring months.
The cause is close to the organiser’s hearts, having lost a dear friend to the disease years ago. Those who turned out either walked, jogged or ran the 1 mile track (some even doing it more than once!) and each got their own thrilling ribbon finish complete with applause and smiles!
Alongside the charity walk, a quiz night was organised and all together £300 was raised. Furthermore, CLC World also donated a one-week holiday voucher which was bought at silent auction for £450, with the winner looking to holiday in Tenerife, bringing the total amount raised to £750!
