Quiz night for charity funds boost

CLC World pulled out some of its brightest minds to do battle at the Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund’s (CFHF) Annual Quiz Night.

The aim was to raise funds for the charity by donating two holiday certificates for their auction, ably managed by quizmaster Richard Evans.

The first certificate entitled the lucky winner, Alex Sullivan, to two weeks’ accommodation at our CLC Kusadasi Golf & Spa resort in Turkey. His bid raised £2,000 for the charity which works to raise the profile of this genetic condition.

His win was particularly poignant and serves to remind all of us how important it is to support the work of this charity: Alex’s sister died of the condition just two years ago.

The second auction prize was a weekend break at CLC Duchally Country Estate which also attracted several bids and raised an excellent £400 to add to the charity’s funds.

The lucky winners were Frances and Mac George, long-time supporters of the work done by the Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund.

Although our CLC World brainiacs managed a creditable fourth out of eight competing teams on the night, the big winner was of course the CFHF, with a total of £5,860 raised to support its operations.

Thanks to the link-up between CLC World Charity Holidays and CFHF, families living with this progressive condition can experience time away together and enjoy a holiday at several of our resorts.

The victors on the night were James Jason, Ben Brahams, Rebecca Loufte, Dmitri Kovrizhin and Philippa Flint (left to right).
