Helping the homeless on the Costa del Sol and Tenerife

Costa Del Sol

Fundación CLC World help feed the homeless and hungry in Málaga on Christmas Eve by paying for 2,000 tortillas.

A cheque for €3,500 was presented to the city’s Angels of the Night charity which tries to help those in need over the Christmas period.

Its President, Antonio Meléndez, said they were not just trying to feed people who are homeless and living rough.

“There are many people on the streets who need help but with the economic crisis there are also those who do not have enough money to put food on the table once they have paid off all their bills,” he said.

In addition to the tortillas, the charity’s initiative, entitled The Big Handout, supplies the homeless with other basic foods, hygiene products and Christmas sweets.

The cheque was handed over by the President of Fundación CLC World, Juan Miguel Marcos, who said:

“We have been working together with this charity for a few years now and we want to support the help they give to some of those who are struggling in our communities.”

Tenerife

CLC World staff have been busy helping the disadvantaged in Tenerife.

Around 100 homeless people were invited for a meal paid for by Fundación CLC World and organised by the Noah’s Ark charity.

It works to help the homeless and vulnerable and was able to distribute rucksacks, a blanket for everyone and a bag containing essentials such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes and a warm hat.

CLC World staff helped by serving the meal and decorating every table with chocolates and sweets.

Vice President Richard David Wafer said:

“Christmas is a difficult period for the homeless but by helping the Noah’s Ark charity we are helping to make these people’s lives a little bit easier.”
