Helping tackle child poverty

The CLC World-sponsored 15th RCI Christel European Golf Open in Oxfordshire raised nearly £60,000.

Children facing a life of poverty can escape the cycle of deprivation and hardship if they’re given a hand-up, not a handout.

That’s the guiding principle behind internationally active children’s charity Christel House.

Thanks to sponsorship from CLC World Resorts & Hotels, nearly £60,000 was raised at the charity’s 15th RCI Christel European Golf Open at Bodgemore Park in south Oxfordshire.

Two holes on the luxury course at Henley-on-Thames were sponsored by CLC World directors Patrick Ingram and Eugene Miskelly.

The event took place in June with the charity proudly boasting it donates 100% of proceeds to tackling poverty among underprivileged children at its schools and learning centres in India and South Africa.

British rower and gold medallist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Greg Searle, added a dash of celebrity pizzazz at the event.

The cornerstones of the Christel House approach to the character development of its children are respect, responsibility, independence and integrity…values CLC World is proud to honour and uphold.
