Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund – Raising Awareness
On 2nd May, Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund (CFHF) held their annual reception at the Virgin Money Lounge in London to raise awareness of the fund’s aims.
More than 40 guests were present including CLC World Charity Holidays’ Graham Wilding, Grant Peires and its Ambassador, broadcaster and journalist Jennie Bond. Whilst the event was primarily one of raising awareness, there were positive overtones from potential funders and CLC World Charity Holidays once again confirmed their support for the Family Revitalise programme through the provision of holiday accommodation.
Two guest speakers were Hannah Lindley who has CF and Roland Worsley, whose 15 year-old son Thomas also has CF. Roland gave guests an insight into living with CF, while Hannah spoke movingly about the death of her sister from the disease and the impact CFHF had in helping to fund their last holiday together.
Jennie Bond also spoke, telling guests how she’d had the privilege of meeting some of the families that had benefitted from the collaboration between CFHF and CLC World Charity Holidays, during their stays at CLC Duchally Country Estate and CLC Club La Costa World.
“I was amazed by the families’ courage, stoicism and ‘get on with it’ attitude” Jennie said. “How they try to make life as normal as possible when it isn’t – with numerous hospital visits and exhausting routines. This is why time away is so important and can help create precious memories.”
CLC World Charity Holidays is proud to continue its partnership with CFHF, supporting the Family Revitalise programme and making a difference to those who need it most.
