Gorge Yourself on Waterfalls
Be amazed by the impressive gorges and waterfalls as nature demonstrates her force and beauty. Krimml Waterfalls, the highest in central Europe, and the Lammer Gorge are just two examples that the family can enjoy.
Go Big on Rural Traditions
‘Heidi’ may have lived in the Swiss Alps, but she’d be just at home in the Austrian Alps with mountain huts, lush pastures and herdsmen. If you’re hiking in the mountains, you may come across one of the mountain huts that is now a snack station. Enjoy some spicy cheese, cold buttermilk or fresh bread before continuing on your way.
There are 170 certified Alpine huts, more details here.
