The Amazing Eden Project Experience

Situated at St. Blazey’s, close to the beautiful town of St. Austell and just over 4 miles from CLC Trenython Manor, The Eden Project in Cornwall provides a fascinating day out for all the family.

An immersive and interactive experience which allows visitors to learn and understand the relationship between humans and plants is central to the Eden Project Experience.

A lively programme of events hosted at the Eden Project in Cornwall include top musical acts and festivals, plus adrenalin-fuelled attractions such as the longest and fastest zip wire in England, which soars above the Biomes (giant geodesic domes) covering 660 metres and travelling at speeds up to 60mph. You can even go headfirst in a special harness that allows you to experience the ride ‘superman’ style for a spectacular view of the site!

The Biomes, situated in the Eden gardens Cornwall are instantly recognisable on the landscape and create a Mediterranean climate in one and a tropical humidity in the other, with thousands of plants housed inside. Protecting flora and fauna from across the world, the Biomes have been referred to as the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World.’

Built on a former clay pit, The Project’s terrain was featured in the 1998 cult TV series ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ and opened its doors to the public in 2001. Eden overlooks St. Austell Bay and is a charity and social enterprise running valuable research projects here and around the world.

Special family events and exhibitions fill an active calendar throughout the year, from the Invisible Worlds Exhibition that reveals the world beyond our senses to the Western Australia Garden and storytelling sessions amid the delicious scents of the Citrus Grove in the Mediterranean Biome.

At CLC Trenython Manor we have our own small green projects and environmental interests, but if you want to see the far bigger picture, the Eden Project is a must-visit local attraction.

It is easy to spend 4-5 hours at the Eden Project as plants and exhibits change throughout the seasons and you can choose from several cafes and bars if you are feeling peckish. The delicious food served at the cafes is responsibly sourced, fairly-traded, seasonal, local and freshly made. Outlets include the Eden Kitchen, the Eden Grill, the Baobab & Rum Bar, the Ice Cream Parlour, the Core Café and Med Terrace, offering a great range of cuisine and drinks, from home-made gourmet burgers to fresh sustainable Cornish fish dishes, rum cocktails and a delicious selection of pasties, sandwiches and cakes.

If you want to visit the Eden Project in Cornwall, why not book into CLC Trenython Manor, which is part of CLC World Resorts & Hotels.
