Great Hiking Routes near CLC World Resorts
Hiking is a fabulous way to keep fit, enjoy the great outdoors and get those happiness levels soaring – body and mind will benefit. So, the next time someone tells you “to take a hike”, smile, grab your hiking boots and water, and thank them for the great advice.
You don’t have to be ‘superman fit’ to hike, either. Whether you’re a novice or experienced, there are lots of routes for all levels in and around CLC World resorts.
Costa del Sol
Passing along boardwalks and promenades, past beaches and the Almenara watchtowers, the coast path stretches from the Balcón de Europa in Nerja to Castillo de la Duquesa in Manilva – over 200km. From your CLC Club La Costa World base, you can choose one of the 12 different legs and enjoy the sea breeze.
The white mountain village of Mijas, meanwhile, offers great experiences and even better hiking. With different elevations, self-guided routes will get your heart, lungs and legs pumping, and the incredible views will give you that sense of being that only nature can.
From a 3km easy walk into the local town of Auchterarder to a steep climb up Craigrossie, there’s a host of routes from which to enjoy the beautiful scenery that lies on CLC Duchally Country Estate’s doorstep.
The resort is a great base for walking holidays in Scotland. Found at the Gateway to the Highlands, Duchally offers a local walking guide for hiking inspiration. Simply ask at reception and set out to explore.
With routes such as the 11km Seepromenade around Lake Zell or a cable car ride up Kitzsteinhorn before hiking 8km in the mountains to Maiskogel, there’s something for everyone. In the summer, enjoy the waterfalls and alpine flora and fauna, while in winter the landscape transforms under the snow but great hiking is still available.
Cornwall is renowned for its hiking country, dotted with disused tin mines, quaint villages and beautiful coves, plus the wild beauty of Bodmin Moor.
Choose from routes such as Par to Polperro on the South West Coast Path with its views of Gribbin Head and the beautiful estuary or strike out across Bodmin taking in the summit of Rough Tor and Cornwall’s highest point, Brown Willy.
CLC Trenython Manor is the perfect location, with its own inspirational views across St Austell Bay, for hiking holidays in England’s south west peninsular.
Immerse yourself in the history and nature of Turkey on some of the country’s many trails. The most famous, of course, is The Lycian Way which makes its way around the coast of Lycia from Fethiye to Antalya.
Closer to CLC Kusadasi Golf & Spa is the Dilek National Park with its Canyon Walk. Trek around the beautiful mountains of the park with its flowers, birds and the occasional wild pig family. Once you’ve finished your walk, you can enjoy a dip in the beautifully clear waters at one of the many idyllic beaches.
Alternatively, take a day trip to Samos and enter Greek territory. Grab the ferry from Kusadasi and make the most of your 6 hours before the return trip to hike through hillside villages, fertile valleys and ancient olive groves.
The Econ River Wilderness is 240 acres of wildflowers, pine trees and floodplain in the Orlando suburbs. If you want to put your feet-up for a moment or two, there are quiet spots from which to enjoy the solitude.
Bronson State Forest is more than 12 linear miles and includes a segment of the Florida Trail. An array of habitats is present with wildlife sightings common including tortoises.
