CLC World resorts & Hotels

Join the World – Discover the UK is the slogan for Visit Britain’s 2018 campaign, and whether you’re a UK resident or flying in from overseas, there’s never been a better time to discover the wonders of the UK.

Why choose CLC World for your UK holiday? Because we have two fantastic resorts to choose from – CLC Duchally Country Estate in Perthshire, Scotland and CLC Trenython Manor in Cornwall – both of which showcase British style and hospitality.

England

Set in England’s most popular holiday destination, Cornwall, CLC Trenython Manor is a country estate with mansion house hotel and self-catering lodges in 24 acres of grounds.

Nestled above St. Austell Bay, CLC Trenython Manor is close to Fowey, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan and is the ideal base to discover the beauty of the countryside from Bodmin Moor to the sandy beaches. If you enjoy walking and hiking, the South West Coast Path has numerous defined walks within the area.

You could also enjoy one of the many festivals that are on offer; if you’re a book or art lover, then the Fowey Festival of Arts & Literature is on your doorstep. Less than 40 miles from CLC Trenython Manor is the Porthleven Food Festival which is held in April. Events happen in and around the picturesque harbour, with food stalls, international chef’s theatre, street food and music.

The Royal Cornwall Show is even closer to CLC Trenython Manor, under 20 miles, and is fun for all the family. A great advertisement for all things Cornish – farming, food, music, heritage and rural crafts – there’s such a full programme you’ll probably need to stay for the whole weekend.

Whatever the season, Cornwall has lots to offer no matter what floats your boat. Whether it’s a beach, activity or cultural holiday, a break at CLC Trenython Manor is the ideal solution for making the most of England’s most popular holiday county.

Scotland

Scotland – home to whisky, Nessie, golf, Macbeth and CLC Duchally Country Estate – is a country brimming with landscapes, legends and lochs.

CLC Duchally Country Estate is set in 27 acres of beautiful Perthshire parkland, just a long tee shot from the famous Gleneagles golf course. With an award-winning restaurant and Whisky Bar offering a selection of more than 50 whiskies in the country house hotel and a selection of luxury 2 and 3 bed lodges in the grounds, the resort should be your first choice as a base to explore Scotland.

One exciting and definitely unique sporting event is the Highland Games. With locations throughout the country, you can see Highland dancing, caber tossing, pipe band contests, tug o’ war and browse the arts and crafts stalls. One of the closest Games is in Perth, just 15 minutes from CLC Duchally Country Estate.

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, then Scotland is a must. J K Rowling wrote most of the books in a café in Edinburgh and so lots of the places around her were transformed into Harry’s world. The films also used lots of Scottish locations, so pack your wand and grab a portkey!

Summer is packed full of festivals. From Edinburgh’s spring Beltane Fire Festival, Festival Fringe and Military Tattoo in August to Glasgow’s month long West End Festival in June, there’s a host of fun and activities to please everyone. Both cities are only an hour’s drive away, making CLC Duchally Country Estate a great place to recuperate after a day of festival-ing.

Naturally, there’s also the incredible landscape to explore; whether hiking, kayaking or skiing, through the mountains or across lochs, you’ll be left inspired and breathless by its beauty.

Come and Discover the UK, from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O’Groats in Scotland, there’s so much to see and do there’ll never be a dull day.
