Enjoy the Tenerife Carnival

Tenerife Carnival is one the biggest and best carnivals in the world and is the pride of the island and the people who live there. This year’s theme is Bollywood and if you are lucky enough to be staying at CLC World’s Tenerife resorts during February a fun-filled two weeks awaits!

The most well known Carnival celebrations take place in the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife from the 6^th – 17^th February. One of the most spectacular shows is The Gala de Elección de la Reina (Election of the Queen) where a truly amazing atmosphere is created by spectators lining the streets as all the candidates take part in a procession wearing spectacular costumes known as fantasies.

Carnival officially takes to the streets from the 8^th February which leads to over a week of non-stop partying and thousands and thousands of revellers take to the streets until dawn. The whole of Santa Cruz and the rest of the island will be taken over by the rhythms and bright colours that make the Tenerife Carnival so special.
