Wonderful weather in Spain
<<< Back to blogs
Despite forecasts for a staycation summer Brits are heading for the Mediterranean sunshine resorts in record numbers. Much of the motivation has been to seek sunshine and escape one of the wettest summers ever with the most popular destination being Spain’s Costa del Sol.
The Costa del Sol has been a perennial favourite for Brits because of the reliability and consistency of its weather. This part of Spain is lucky enough to have its own micro-climate which provides nearly 320 days of sunshine and average temperatures hovering around 19 ° C / 66 º F for most of the year. The unique weather conditions are created by the surrounding mountains of the Cordillera Penibética, which protects the area from rain in winter and extreme heat in summer. Even in high summer temperatures hover around 26 degrees and are kept cool by gentle sea breezes while the sea is a comfortable 20-23 degrees.
Excellent value year-round sunshine holidays on the Costa del Sol can be had from CLC Leisure at the Marina del Sol resort which offers high standard accommodation within one of the largest private estates on the coast. The self contained, secure community features a huge range of activities and facilities including swimming pools, kids club, games room, tennis courts and mini-supermarket together with a great choice of restaurants and bars.
