Add a little ‘grotesque’ to your holiday!

Not all art is designed to celebrate the beautiful and the current exhibition at the Picasso Museum in Malaga illustrates the point.
Until February 10th, the museum housed in the lovely Buenavista Palace on Calle San Agustin close to the cathedral, is showing the work of around 80 different artists in various media under the umbrella title of ‘El Factor Grotesco’ (the grotesque factor).
The paintings, sculptures, engravings, photos, books, documents and films have come from museums and private collections and the exhibition explores some of the important features of the evolution and meaning of this genre in Western art.
Expect incongruity, humour, satire, macabre, monstrous…and surprises!
The exhibition is open Tues-Thurs from 10.00-20-00 and on Sundays from 10.00-21-00, ticket prices from €4-9.
