Watch the march of the penguins at Edinburgh Zoo!
Guests at Duchally Country Estate are invited to come and see the penguin parade at Edinburgh Zoo, under an hour away from their Club La Costa resort.
The zoo’s penguins are let out from their enclosure at 2.15pm every day, and waddle their way to the penguin lawn past the assembled visitors, which makes for a fantastic experience – for adults and children alike!
Amongst the penguins are Gentoo, Rockhopper and King Penguins, and as they pass, a zoo representative will give a talk on the birds so you can learn more about these curious creatures.
Be warned though, that penguins also have their ‘duvet days’ where they are simply not in the mood for waddling anywhere, and choose to leave the lawn for another day. There are also occasions when the zoo is unable to let the penguins out, such as bad weather, or circumstances beyond the zoo’s control.
If you are staying at Duchally Country Estate, and plan to visit the penguins at Edinburgh Zoo, then ask one of Duchally’s helpful staff to call ahead and find out whether that day’s parade is still scheduled, and just how energetic the penguins happen to be…
