Lara likes a job that keeps her ‘on her toes’
Meet Lara Main, manager of Club La Costa’s Team Marina
A qualified choreographer and dance teacher, who trained as a ballet dancer and then worked in UK theatres and TV studios, as well as touring abroad with a dance troupe, has a new leading role as manager of Club La Costa’s Team Marina, tasked with keeping families on holidays happily entertained.
Lara Main joined Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels on the Costa del Sol in 2008, first as a hostess in its jungle-themed family restaurant: Safari, then becoming restaurant manager at another of its resorts, Las Farolas. Recently she was appointed to her new position.
It was her talents as a dancer that first brought her to the coast in 1998, where she performed on stage at the Torrequebrada Casino and subsequently decided to ‘relocate’. As a member of a multi-national dance group based in Spain, she quickly learned Spanish and chose to attend a full-time course in Tourist Animation, in Malaga, ready for when she ‘retired’ from performing.
Today she still teaches and choreographs and is planning a series of special shows in readiness for next summer’s Club La Costa entertainments programme; auditioning new artists from both UK and Spanish agencies, along with some of her showbiz world contacts.
She says, “I love to be active and Team Marina certainly keeps me on my feet. Club La Costa has been a fantastic opportunity for me to take my passion for dance and develop a career role with a bright future.”
Club La Costa’s Team Marina is a kids’ club for children aged 4 and upwards, offering activities such as crafts, cinema, minigolf and archery, to keep them entertained while their parents take some time out to relax, or to use any of the facilities at Club La Costa which the kids would not enjoy.
